Northwest Fire Centre prohibitions and restrictions

View all prohibitions and restrictions for the Northwest Fire Centre, which stretches from the west coast to just west of Endako and from the Yukon border to Tweedsmuir Provincial Park.

Current Northwest fire prohibitions 

Category 3 open fire, as defined in the Wildfire Regulation, is prohibited across the Bulkley Fire Zone and the Nadina Fire Zone. Municipalities regulate open fire within their boundaries. Please check with local municipalities for any prohibitions or restrictions before lighting a fire.

This Order takes effect at 12:00 p.m. (noon) PDT May 9, 2025, and remains in effect until 12:00 p.m. (noon) PDT Sept. 29, 2025, or until the Order is rescinded.

In addition, the following activities and use of equipment, materials and substances are prohibited within the Prohibition Area, per Section 12 of the Wildfire Act:

  • Air Curtain Burners
  • Carbonizers

Current Northwest area restrictions

There are currently no Forest Use restrictions or area restrictions in effect in the Northwest Fire Centre.
